The Ag. Vice Chancellor of the University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, UAES, Umuagwo Imo State, Prof. Chiedozie C. Eze today payed a courtesy visit to the Head of NEMA Owerri Operations Office to seek collaboration and partnership with the interventionist agency.

Speaking during the visit, Prof. CC Eze stated that the visit was to seek mutually beneficial collaboration for both institutions. He said UAES has a retinue of experts in environmental science, erosion control, climate change, etc who are able and capable to assist the NEMA whenever they are called upon. He said UAES is a mini Nigeria with students and staff from across parts of the country.

Responding, Ifeanyi Nnaji, the Head of NEMA Owerri Operations Office expressed great delight at the honored of receiving the erudite guests in his office. He stated that it was a conicidence that that NEMA office had thought of such a partnership in the recent past due to the need for a specialized institution to assist in the area of the much needed public enlightenment on environmental issues and promised to visit the University within 24 hours of the VCs visit to appraise areas of partnership, assistance and collaboration.

The VC was accompanied on the visit by the Registrar, Prince Edward Njemanze, University Librarian, Prof Chidi Nwosu, Head, Physical Planning, Osuagwu Chike and University PRO, Mr Ikechukwu Ogbonna.
