It was a dream come true for the matriculants of the University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (UAES) Umuagwo, Imo State as the university holds her 5th convocation ceremony on Friday 13th February 2026 at the institutions play ground.

 

The acting Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof Christopher C. Eze extended warm welcome to the matriculating students admitted into the University.

Prof Eze noted the mandate of the University in producing high quality graduates equipped with sound knowledge, practical   - hands on - tools- skills, and entrepreneurial competence to address national development needs and emerging environmental challenges, adding that the University has recorded steady growth in academic programmes, student enrolment and institutional systems.

 

The Imo state commissioner for tertiary and technical education, Prof Victor Nwachukwu on behalf of the Governor of Imo state, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma congratulated the university community for sustaining the noble institution and for reaching yet another remarkable milestone.

Prof Nwachukwu admonished the students to build strong personal values that will sustain them beyond the classroom-confidence, honesty, trust, hard work, and perseverance while  pursuing their academic goals.

 

In his address, Chief Dr Sir Henry Njoku (Harritex) on behalf of the  Pro Chancellor and Governing Council Chairman, Prof Allison Allino, described the formal rite of entry as a moment that marks a transition from aspiration to purposeful preparation for leadership, service and impact.

Chief Dr Njoku reiterated on the council's unwavering commitment to strengthen academic excellence, ensure responsible governance, promote innovation, and create an environment where both staff and students can thrive.

 

Dr Njoku while urging the students to embrace research, creativity, service, and leadership, also thanked the parents and guardians for entrusting in the institution what is most precious to them.

Chief Dr Sir Njoku pledged the institutions commitment in nurturing the children in learning, integrity and purpose as he formally welcomed the students into the university community of knowledge, innovation and excellence.
