Council Member Biography

Robert Nwankwo Anikputa was born on Aprifl 9, 1966, in Umana-Ndiagu, Enugu State, Nigeria. He completed his secondary education at Aguobu-Owa High School and Boys’ Secondary School, Mgbagbu-Owa. He earned an HND in Accounting from IMT Enugu in 1991, an MBA from Delta State University in 2006, and an MSc in Accounting from Nnamdi Azikiwe University in 2017.

A seasoned accountant, Robert became a member of ICAN in 2001, obtained his practicing license in 2004, and was awarded an ICAN Fellowship (FCA) in 2013. He is also a registered professional with the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria and holds an IFRS Proficiency Certification from ICAN.

Robert has over 30 years of experience in financial management. He started as an Audit Senior at Onuoha, Elenwoke, Opara & Co (1993–2001) and later served as an Audit Manager at Sam Utomakili & Co (2002–2005). He then joined Delta State University, holding key positions in the Bursary Department from 2005 to 2021, eventually becoming Deputy Bursar. In 2021, he was appointed Bursar of the University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Umuagwo, overseeing the institution’s financial operations.
