Council Member Biography

Dr. (Mrs.) Olachi Chinenye Ihejirika is a native of Umuohamara Village of Okolochi Town in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State. She attended Central School Eziobodo where she obtained her First School Leaving Certificate. Her Secondary Education was at Dora Chinyere Nwankiti Juniorate Inyishi, Ikeduru where she obtained her Senior Secondary Certificate.

Dr. Olachi has a Bachelor’s Degree in Education English (B.Ed.) where she graduated as the Best Graduating Student in the Faculty of Education 2002/2003 and did her NYSC as an English teacher at Ogori/Mangogo Nursery and Primary School, Kogi State. She proceeded with her Master’s Degree in Education Management and Planning (M.Ed.) and a Doctorate Degree in Education Management (Ph.D.) all from Imo State University, Owerri.

Dr. (Mrs.) Olachi has worked in different capacities. She was an Administrative Officer, Oruhtrade International Ltd Warri Branch, Delta State, Senior English and Literature teacher, Grace Model School Ovwian, Delta State as well as the Principal, Blessed Bobson Secondary School, Udu-Delta State between 2010 and 2020.

She joined the University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences Umuagwo in the year 2022 and has served the University in different areas such as: the Coordinator for Senate Affairs, Admissions and Council Matters Unit, Secretary to the Committee of Deans, Secretary to the Taskforce on Result and Script Verification Committee, Member Matriculation Committee 2022/2023 Academic session, Secretary Library Development Committee, Secretary Book Development Committee, Member Committee on Student Assault and Secretary to Standing Order Proceedings of Council Committee, just to mention but a few. As Council Coordinator, she works with the Registrar in taking Minutes for different Committees of Council which include: The Finance and General Purposes Committee of Council, Tenders Board Committee of Council, Appointments, Promotions and Disciplinary Committee of Council and Congregation Meetings.

Dr/Mrs. Olachi.C. Ihejirika is a good Christian and currently a Member of the Governing Council of University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (UAES), Umuagwo representing Congregation (Non-Teaching). She is married to Dr. Peters .O. Ihejirika of the Department of Banking and Finance, Imo State University, Owerri and the marriage is blessed with three children.
